do we draw a straight line as a best fit or a curve???

I got answer from the book that draw a line of best fit
but when I looked at the note from marking centre
it said u need to draw a curve of best fit
what should i do???

Thanks for helping~

A curve can also be a line of best fit....if the points imply a curve like shape, do the line of best fit (in a curved shape)

Try having equal number of points above the curve and below, draw a line that best fits the progression of the dots/points

A curve of best fit and a line of best fit are two different things right?

Success one answer book drew a line (straight line) of best fit
while BOS marking centre note said to draw a curve of best fit...
Is it okay I draw a straight line as a best fit even it said to draw a curve of best fit???

I drew a straight line of best fit and thats what my creelman does though I remember the first time I did this, someone told me it should be a curve. Drawing a curve now it could work as well. Honestly this question is ambiguous. The thing you can argue tho is that concentration is known to be proportional to absorbance which implies a linear relationship and thus it should be a straight line.

Also whilst it may not be so reliable, wiki quotes "In everyday use of the term "curve", a straight line is not curved, but in mathematical parlance curves include straight lines and line segments". So in that case a line is a curve.
