At this rate the only way to get Labor out of power will be to abolish the states.
Yet there's a bad idea. Perhaps a reworking of Federation would be a better idea.Captain Gh3y said:At this rate the only way to get Labor out of power will be to abolish the states.
It will be very low key. I remember there was a debate like this once on dateline. I can't rememner who between.frog12986 said:The two respective leaders will hold a debate of sorts, albeit an unusual one, on ABC's Stateline on February 16. They will be sitting, and there will be no audience.

Apart from being a fancy statement based on Debnam's 'values', what do you actually mean by that?MiTcHeLL4188 said:...god save NSW if Debnam gets in, we can all say hello to 1949 again...

The notion that blame shifting will cease with wall to wall ALP governments is ludicrous, and merely based on politics. No matter what party holds Federal office it would be irresponsible to pander to state demands in an attempt to solve the blame game. OF course the states are going to postively respond to Rudds plan in the lead up to the election, but in practice it will gradually develop to a largely different story.timmyh said:I have no idea what ur question has to do with my post. Democracy is a term used to describe a system which gives decision making power to the masses, rather than a select few, as opposed to earlier systems where monarchs etc would make the decisions. i have no idea what this notion of democracy has to do with buckpassing between states and the fed gov.
oh, and the libs are not a well grommed gov, unless of course u've travelled in time from the 1950s, in which case i see your point. And to be fair, yes NSW labor is very bad at the moment, it just shows u how much worse the libs must be if everyone still prefers labor....
So if it was wall to wall Liberal governments blame shifting wouldn't cease?frog12986 said:The notion that blame shifting will cease with wall to wall ALP governments is ludicrous, and merely based on politics.
