I was doing Society and Culture but dropped it for Ancient. Good, or not?

Doesn't really matter too much I guess :p as long as you do well in it :D

gonna drop ^^^ for sure.

and the reason i know why for sure is because, u need a max of 12 units in yr 11, and only 10 in yr 12 right? so u kindda need "padding" subjects...

(im really hoping i dont sound like a noob but....)
I dont get this, why would anyone have 12 or 13 units in yr 12, when only 10 count? isnt that just silly?

no its not really silly. people choose to keep all their subjects so that just incase they don't do to well in one subject in the hsc, they can still get the uai they want as it only counts your best 10 units.

anyways my prelim subjects are:

english advance
3 unit maths
visual arts
chemisty
geography
physics

Re: Prelim Subjects '08

Attention all prelim Noobs!!!

if u find a subject hard majority of other will find it hard as we, therefore if u make a little attept to understand it you will in a much better position than most. hence when it come to ur hsc u will have a much better mark in comparison. dont just do the easy subjects, alot of people do them and cos they're easy they do well in hsc, so u have to be exceptional to. even if u do well, in comparison to other u might do average witha amark of say 85.
my point is if u are going to drope a subject cos its hard....don't!

but its up to u.....

I'm Sara and I'm doing:
English Advanced
Chemistry
Geography
I.T. (Vet)
Business Studies
Maths 2 Unit + Maths Extension
Religion (stupid Catholic school!)

But I was wondering, how is Maths Extension 1 in year 12?
and can I do extension 1 in year 12? I've heard a lot of weird things about the extension maths system in Year 12...

oh and just to say, my school doesn't offer the subject Earth and Environmental Sciences :( very disappointing...

I've got pretty good, tolerable subjects so I'm hoping to do well next year. That's the key right, choose subjects you like and know you can go well in and you'll do really well! So I'm hoping thats the case with me!
And good luck to all HSC 09'ers!

What have you heard? If you're planning on doing Extension 1, and your school offers it (most schools should), then, I don't see why you can't do it.
