my official uai was 75.35, this years cut off for B engineering ( mechanical and mechatronic) was 85. i got an offer main round. UTS was my first pref, im so happy i got an offer . i think the fact tht i did ext 1 math, physics, chem and dt helped alot!

Ya, congrats man.

They give up to 10 UAI for first preferences I heard. Although, a friend of mine got into his UTS course with 12UAI below the cut-off.

I got offered my first preference with 7UAI below the cut-off, thank god. Probably since I did well in related subjects, only Maths screwed my UAI over.

i really think that there is something wrong with the uts cut off... the cut off for my course was 91 and there is no way in the world i got that uai

They give bonuses presumably depending on how well you do in related subjects + your school amongst other factors.

The UAI system fails IMO.
