What type of links can you make with the data and the biological practices ?
I could only think of:
- Palaeontology - marine fossils could've shown transitional forms leading to mammals ?
- Biogeography - Australia and NZ split up, similar species separated
-convergent/divergent evolution for the new species of bird
- islands devoid of mammals , natural selection ?

Also the time scale. Darwin and Wallace hypothesise evolution takes millions of years to come into effect.
