Hey all,

So being nearly the New Year I thought we could have this obligatory thread and rather than just have it as a one-off post of your NYR, we also use it throughout the year to keep track of our progress with them too. This has the potential to help you stick to your resolution, so don't hold back :)

I'll start:
- Lose weight and get some abs (get to ~80kg and ~11-13% body fat)
- Make the Dean's List
- Get employed at Abercrombie & Fitch (notsrs but a little srs)
- Be more giving
- Be more socially active at uni
- Get my P Plates (yeah I'm like 2 years late)
- Pick up the guitar again
- Work hard enough to be considered on the executive of the Bsoc
- Swear less
- Read 2 books that aren't textbooks (srs, I haven't even finished the 1 book I was reading all of last year yet)
- Read at least one article on The Conversation or watch one Ted Talk a day

Will post progress whether anyone posts theirs here or not.

Weight Loss
Starting weight as of 1/1/2014 - 88.1kg
Not sure how to get body fat ratio but will look into it as I lose weight anyway.

My NYR are:

- run 10k non-stop by the end of the year (I don't run at all and I have not consciously exercised in 2013)
- limit social media to 1 hr max each day
- read 60 books
- get an HD average at uni
- keep in contact at least once per week with my close family/friends living overseas

Yep that's it for now.

Crobat, you've got some real interesting NYR! How do you make the Dean's list? I've always wanted to win the university medal but that's a not srs but a little srs thing for me cos I don't think I'd be able to get it.

Tbh don't have a clue :haha: I think it's the top 10% of students but I figure if I maximise my marks I should be able to make the Dean's List

and glad to see you've taken some on!

Good luck!

I don't think I've read that many books in my entire lifetime...

Goals for next year:
- Buy a Burberry Trench Coat for Mens
- Buy a Marc Jacobs grey sweater
- Buy a Burberry Cashmere Scarf
- Buy a Ferragamo tote bag
- Aim for HDs straight in my subjects
- Attend more uni clubs ( I didn't even attend a single one this year after joining)
- Nightclubbing and socialise more in the Darlinghurst area where the best night clubs are at.
- Write a screenplay with time consumption of development of 9-12 months, then produce the short film.

:)

My list of resolutions:

- Work hard to get my first ever HD in a subject. So far my highest uni mark is only a 78 and I've only ever received 3 DNs :(
- Cut down body fat and increase muscle. :)
- Eat less fatty foods and increase the portion of vegetables that I eat (Y)
- Get a girlfriend; ignore what my mom says to me about how you're too young to get a gf and shit.

Not much as of yet

I think for these ones you can sum it up to "aim to be poor" :haha:

The rest are very interesting though! Especially the screenplay one! Wish you all the best luck :)
