Mine is in week 2-3when are you lot sitting your trial exams. my school is doing mine week 4-5 of text term which i think is way too early and were expected to come back to school after to finish off content.
im honestly worried about english, for prelim mod b (we did othello) we basically didn’t even touch act 5 and didn’t have any time for mock tests or anything. we haven’t started king henry and i don’t think we’re going to finish this one in a timely manner either so i have zero idea how we’re going to prepare for mod c in whats effectively 2 weeks (unless my teacher decides to spend weeks 1-2 finishing mod b then 1-2 weeks on exam prep then start mod c after trials?)
yeah probably like thatWhat does everyone consider ‘trial ready’ for English Advanced / standard ? Being able to confidently sit Paper 1 and Paper 2 with the 3 essays fully memorised? (And maybe a Mod C piece too?)
basically, yeah. or at least having 12 qte’s memorised if you’re good at analysing on the spot. others it’s having fully adaptable essays memorisedWhat does everyone consider ‘trial ready’ for English Advanced / standard ? well i have two trials so one is in week 8-9 this term and the other is week 3-4 next termwhen are you lot sitting your trial exams. my school is doing mine week 4-5 of text term which i think is way too early and were expected to come back to school after to finish off content.

i feel so bad for youwell i have two trials so one is in week 8-9 this term and the other is week 3-4 next term
why would u rather do paper 2 than an open exam that crap was traumaticthey are
tbh the exam today wasnt even bad but sometimes i just reminisce on just writing about random things. when you really think about it and look back like writing a made up story or analysing a piece of poetry was kind of fun and lightwork idkwhy would u rather do paper 2 than an open exam that crap was traumatic
i really dont know why i was so dramatic in the hsc wasnt even that deeptbh the exam today wasnt even bad but sometimes i just reminisce on just writing about random things. when you really think about it and look back like writing a made up story or analysing a piece of poetry was kind of fun and lightwork idk
as I keep reminding my students . Memorising essays is a risk .What does everyone consider ‘trial ready’ for English Advanced / standard ? Being able to confidently sit Paper 1 and Paper 2 with the 3 essays fully memorised? (And maybe a Mod C piece too?)
I know a similar school that literally does this, called Al-Faisal bru they literally do two trials and take the avg of both trials. Ong students must be so fried there, you gotta feel for them.well i have two trials so one is in week 8-9 this term and the other is week 3-4 next term
I swear I heard someone on bos say that some schools do 3I know a similar school that literally does this, called Al-Faisal bru they literally do two trials and take the avg of both trials. Ong students must be so fried there, you gotta feel for them.
absolutely mental who does THREE Trials, 2 is already pushing itI swear I heard someone on bos say that some schools do 3
the head of secondary at my school and another one of his friends went to this school who did 3 trials and they wouldn't tell them which one was formal so they wouldn't even know they would just pick on of them to be formalI swear I heard someone on bos say that some schools do 3
thats crazy but our school used to do mock trials before the actual trials and they used to be informal but now they made everything formal so we literally used to have tasks weighing like 5% for other subjects or 4% for english. now they made the mock trials formal too but the percentages are so weird that they are different for every subject. like one subject weighs equal for both trials and then one is like less for mock trials and more for the actual trials so its very confusingI know a similar school that literally does this, called Al-Faisal bru they literally do two trials and take the avg of both trials. Ong students must be so fried there, you gotta feel for them.
so our school finished all the content for the sciences last term and for humanities they are still doing it and english we're just doing mod c now. orignally the first trials used to be the mock trials which didn't really matter cuz it was informal but now they made everything formal so its also formal but the school makes this one and the one next term is outsourcedi feel so bad for youhow does it work in your school?
