Hello,

I am doing Extension 1 Mathematics for HSC and 2 unit mathematics but not 4 unit mathematics. Someone told me the mark is out of 50 for 3 unit math, is this true? So a 47/50 is equivalent to a 94 mark and 48/50 is equivalent to a 96 mark but what would you get if you performed at the 95 mark level? Would you receive a 96 mark ie 48 because it is the closest or do you get 47.5?

Thanks in advance.

Actually only half correct.

Your reported HSC mark would be 48.
But they would use the unrounded mark for calculating your ATAR.

(Actually it is a little more complicated than that, because they use unscaled marks for calculating ATAR. Nevertheless, someone who gets 48/50 will get a greater ATAR contribution than someone who gets 47.5, even though the marks are both reported as 48)
