Your opinon on the 'best' car to own out of the following 4? (semi automatic transmission), young driver [under 30].

Appearance/initial impression is a major factor, but also take into account insurance, petrol, service costs etc. (the IS250 is +$15k higher than the other three)

1. Chrysler Crossfire

2. Mazda RX8

3. Lexus IS250

4. Nissan 350Z

Edit: added 350z

I like that you added 350z. RX8 if you need back seats.

If you're at all concerned about $$$ what about mx5 coupe? Pretty sexy

All the rest aren't that cheap to own.

Crossfire is shit, built on an old Mercedes chassis and made ugly and slow
IS250 isn't a sports car (well, not quite)
RX-8 is a bit under powered, but awesome. (and practical for a coupe)
350Z is sweet but only a 2 seater. Also a 370Z should be coming out in the next year or two.

Definitely the Crossfire....shits all over the others.

Makes more of a statement as you don't see as many Crossfires in comparison to the others.

Depends if you want to sacrifice luxury for performance.

Friends dad has crossfire, overpriced in my opnion. The interior is tacky, dodgy and plastic.

Out of all three for luxury and sports performance together, 350Z.. cheaper to insure than the others I believe.

if you want to get in touch with your inner yobbo this is the perfect choice. if your not worried about performance go the is250 in black. it is pure sex. if you want performance get a 350Z track. absolute weapon.

who voted for the crossfire? wtf? and why are you looking at an is250? its is a completely different car to an rx8 and the 350z. get the 350z. and get a manual too - an auto would ruin these cars.

Particularly with the mazda. I'm assuming we're talking before the recent facelift (given the pic), didn't the auto lose 30kW or something?

IS250 is definatly the worst one there, overpriced. you can get a much better car for that kind of money. crossfire is gennerally made for style rather than performance and practicality.

buy japanese - value for money and will probably last your longer.

350z is ok, but i think the rx-8 is better looking and better performance. Mazda Brand name holds a name of quality and practicality, although the back seats are basically useless cause noone can fit. Fuel consumption is reallly bad two because of the rotary engine (like 12L/100km).

over all probably would go for the Mazda- looks awesome, comfy interior and will last ages cause its a mazda.

The crossfire is shit in every way. There are only about 5 good American cars, none of which are available in Australia.

350z then the IS250.

Although for the amount of money in question you coud also get:
FPV F6 (never been a ford or holden fan but this thing is awesome)
Evo X
VW R32
a Lotus
Ariel Atom

Pretty sure neither of those comes with a semi-auto. Also aerial atom isn't in aus.
