So what do you think of the textbooks in terms of:

-Range of Difficulty
-Style of Questions
-Relevance of Questions (inside the syllabus?)
-Topic strengths/weaknesses
-Answer section

Does Cambridge dominate 4U like it does 3U?

I've seen the other thread but it was from 6 years ago and I wasn't sure how relevant it is atm.

T.Lee: Questions not that great/unoriginal but it has worked solutions, which is it's only +.

Fitzpatrick: Strange questions + poor explanations.

Coroneos: Good explanations + lots of original and problems, also quite challenging.

Patel: Decent questions but not many explanations.

Cambridge is a dud compared to its 2U and 3U counterparts.

Definitely agreed with Carrot ^.

So If I were to look for a good book just for practise and resources, Coroneos is the one?

Textbooks should form the bare minimum for Maths study. Imo once you have a VAGUE conceptual understanding of all the topics you should move straight onto past paper/exam questions...

I don't think 'vague' quite cuts it.

I did every question of Cambridge before I moved on to past papers - not sure on the length of other textbooks though.

we use all of them at school (except Patel + Terry). From experience, I find Fitzpatrick OKAY for learning the basic concepts (some questions are on the weird side though). However, for consolidating on learnt knowledge, no doubt Coroneos is the best.

Stay away from Cambridge as much as possible (use it for questions only if you really have to). Their explanations are truly shit. :\
