Not to mention rights of the mother to choose. After a certain period abotion should be ilegal - should not be allowed to terminate 2 weeks before delivery date.
If there is going to be a abortion it must be early.

I have no problem with it being aired. Its an issue that we have to deal with in today's society and everyone in one form or another will have to face it. As ash said, you cannot hide the real world. A asquith said, is it morally right in bringing up a child without good circumstances? If poeple have a problem with it being on TV, then dont watch it

If by abortion you mean the removing and killing of the baby, it can be done quite late in pregnancy.

Personally I say that aborting early in pregnancy and aborting late in pregnancy is the same thing, killing of the baby. To draw some line because the baby isn't developed yet is just some sort of arbitrary 'make me feel good' justificiation.

Distinctions need to be made, there are always grey areas and through what you have said it implies that you think everyone is in a position where they can have their father or husband (realise that I didn't mention any females - as criticism of you) support them and their child during and after pregnancy, in reality this isn't the case. Raped women, women in poor socio-economic circumstances, families who are not yet in a financial position ready to carry the economic burden of a child, families who do not want a child, circumstances where the mother may die, circumstances where the child will be severely deformed either mentally or physically, circumstances where the child will be born into an extremely abusive situation, there are many, many factors (more than this) that can contribute to the woman choosing to terminate the child and these should be acknowledged against simplistic moral and religious lambasting.

I said that abortion is killing the baby, regardless of whether the baby is 2 months old or 9 months old. I don't know where you got "I think that all women can have babies, anyone that gets an abortion is an idiot" from that.

You also seem to think that I am against abortion. I seem to recall saying:

Is it logically inconsistant for me to only agree with early abortions? Yes.

I can't find it either, I just remember hearing Mark Latham say he wouldn't watch it because it was on at 10:30 on a Sunday night and he's got kids etc, so he'd be sleeping...

I assumed this Sunday, but I could be wrong..

well you know what i havent thought about ( till now) about the whole filming of the abortion, is what would the woman going thruogh the abortion be feeling? abortion to most would be a tough and emotional ordeal. imagine sharing that with the nation.

ok, i agree entirely that she has the right to consent to show it on tv. as long as she's consented, i don't have any moral problems with it.

however, like nerd2die4, i do find it a little strange that she's willing to share such an emotional ordeal with the nation.
