For Chem. calculations, is it ok to round off the atomic masses of atoms to the nearest whole number? What if it's like Cu where it's 63.55?

I know that this is a stupid question but the books do have it to a number of decimal places.

Hi, you should round of the calculation according to the number of decimal places given in the question. For eg. if given in the question with 2 dp. you answer should be in 2 decimal points. Thats what my tutor said. Hope that helped! :D

You mean once I'm finished, I round off?
Ok, what if I use whole numbers to begin with, is that ok?

You should always be as accurate as possible and use exact values all the way to the final anwer where then you could round off. Don't round off in the beginning, round off at the final answer. This is to ensure a better level of accuracy.

You should only round off on your final answer. Start with what you're given, so use the exact decimals for elements (except maybe Hydrogen since 1 and 1.008 are close enough).
