are there any uni courses that require you to do adv eng in high school? i know optometry is one.. are there any others?

Creative Writing, English Literature and Journalism < doing Adv. English in high school would be advantageous if you intend to study any of these areas at university.

but journalism usually have that as an assumed knowledge.

look at some courses like actuarial studies though, they put that as a recommended studies.

As we're on the topic of prerequisite subjects for university courses, if a course requires 'any two units of mathematics' will Mathematics General 1 or Mathematics General 2 suffice? For nursing would Mathematics General 1 be enough? You do study "Mathematics and the Human Body" and learn skills relevant to nursing.
