Hey everyone,

Needing some advice here, hope someone can help me out. I completed my HSC in 2007, went and did a Diploma in Journalism in 2008 and am currently doing a Bachelor of Arts by correspondence at the College with Southern Cross Uni.

I've lately started rethinking my future and have decided I wanted to look into doing a B Education course, specialising in English. I just want to see what my options were in regards to going to Uni next year. I'd like to go to UNSW or USYD but am open to other suggestions.

So yeah, just seeing if anyone can suggest the best way to go about doing this.

Cheers!

Thought about finishing then doing an add-on Ed course (Dip Ed/Masters Teaching etc)?

Looked at Griffith's or MQ's Arts degrees via OUA www.open.edu.au ? You might even get credit for your Diploma in Journalism for the Journo major... maybe... do second major in Literature?

Career wise - thought about teaching English to low-literacy ppl or students that have NESB (non-English speaking background) at TAFE? Or would you rather the Shakespeare?

Primary or secondary?

I have looked briefly at the available Dip Ed/Masters but am not sure. How do they compare to a degree in regards to getting a job? Is one qualification more impressive than the other?

Haven't really considered Open Universities Australia, don't think they're for me.

Ideally I'd like to teach the "Shakespeare" stuff as you referred to it :p

Secondary teaching is what I'd be looking at.
