I'm a bit confused this the law of age of consent in NSW Australia. So is this right ?

15 and under: Cannot legally have sex with anyone.

16 - 17: Can legally have sex with another 16 or 17 year old.

18 and over: Can legally have sex with anyone over eighteen.

I believe that is the case. I've heard that if it occurs below 16 years of age, between 2 consenting <16 yrs of age people, then it is no longer a legal matter but a family matter. I may be wrong on this though.

I don't know if i'm right about what I said above ^, but this says an 16 year old and older can have sex. e.g 40 year old wtf ? https://aifs.gov.au/cfca/publications/age-consent-laws
