1. 7-2(1-2x)

2. 5x-5(2x+1)

3. 5-4(x-2)

4. 7(x-3)+1

=-5x-5

He expanded and collected like terms.

1. 7-2(1-2x) = 7 - 2*1 -2*-2x
= 7 -2 + 4x
= 5 + 4x

7- 2 +4x................................Remove brackets remember (-2).(-2x)=4x
5+4x ........................................Collect like terms (7-2)

2. 5x - 5(2x + 1)
5x -10x -5...................................................remove brackets
-5x-5 ........................................................Collect like terms (5x-10x)

3. 5- 4(x-2)
5 -4x +8......................................remove brackets and remember that (-4).(-2)=8
13-4x.............................. Collect like terms (5+8)

4. 7(x-3) + 1
7x -21 +1 ..........................................remove brackets
7x - 20 .............................................. Collect like terms (-21 +1)

But yeh my worse subject. But I've gotten 60%-70% for all exams/tests this year so I suppose not a disaster atm.

it IS algebra. but i would say its more learning the notation rather than the algebra.

It's not really nesseccary to bag me out for being hopeless at algebra.
Maybe you guys are good at maths and everything else to do with school work, but I bet you guys have noo idea about socializing. Haven't you ever heard of 'if you don't have anything nice to say, dont say anything.' Now thats some year 7-9 work for you guys to catch up on.

You're rubbish at maths, fair enough. There's no two ways about it.

I am not being defensive.. I admitted it at the start that I was rubish at it.

I just think its really unnecessary to go on about how I am 'bad at maths'. Its unnecessary to talk about anyones not-so-good areas.
