I have been going to uni for 3 days and I've already become stressed, worried, anxious everything!

First of all, I don't know how I'm supposed to study for uni and all I've done is make my own notes from the lectures I've attended.
Secondly, I am yet to make one friend in my course.
And thirdly, everyone is saying that Distinctions are fairly impossible to achieve, but that is my goal. Is it really that unachievable?

Please help a first year in trouble!

1) You'll be able to figure out what to study after you've gone to the tutes
2) Do you normally have problems socialising with people?
3) No

Problem 1&3 is a non-issue. If you are reasonably hard working you will be fine.

Problem 2 I empathise with you since I had the same issue and it's a tricky one to deal with. It's hard to give you solid advice since we might be totally different, these are some of the methods I tried:
1. Greeting randoms in class (very small success rate - you get roughly 5min chatting time and when class is over you part your own way)
2. Joining clubs and societies (failed for me since people there are more interested in the activities than making friends).
3. Rocking up early in the first few tute and greeting people who are also alone. (worked to a limited extent)
4. Asking 'acquaintances' if they want to enrol in the same class next semester (works quite well).
5. Introduced to friend's friend (does not work at beginning since you would need to know people to begin with, but once I formed a small network this became a very powerful method).

1. You'll be fine
2. You'll be fine
3. You'll be fine

None of those are issues to worry about at this stage. You're making notes, which is more than most people; friends will come with time; and distinctions are possible with a bit of work. Chillax.

I haven't started uni yet, but the feeling of being in a new environment isn't really alien to anyone. Anyways, just give it time as feeling self-conscious about these things is something i'd imagine most kids to be feeling. If you're still experiencing this in 1-2 weeks then seek more advice, but in the meantime just be patient and you'll hopefully get the hang of things.

ahh, my friend goes there and he said all some of his class mates talk about quote: "coke, money and @#$@#$(girls)". But med science should have some normal students (heaps of medicine aspiring students should be there). Give it time, and you will find like minded people :).
