So I wanted to do psychiatry and I thought a Bachelor of Psychology was the degree you needed in order to become a psychiatrist since they're quite similar. I never actually realised that you needed to do a med degree so I was wondering if there were any pathways that can allow me to do med as I haven't done UMAT and ATAR wise I definitely won't have enough to get into any Med degree as I was rely on bonus points.

I would be looking at the following options:

1. Depending upon your ATAR undertake a Foundation program to help with Uni admission after completion or complete cert IV or higher TAFE courses.
2. Enter into a University course that interests you and that you believe you would obtain a credit average or higher in. (Does not have to be linked to med- although some people do a med science course).
3. Sit the UMAT at the next available intake.
