Hi, I'm not very smart and I goto your average public high school.

My subjects this year are: Biology, Economics, English Standard, Legal Studies, Mathematics General, Modern History.

I want to do ?Bachelor of Planning? because I love town planning and what not.

But I'm not that smart and I don't get UAI under/post-graduate and all that crap.

Anyway, Am I smart enough to get into this uni course?, are my subjects right? :S ?

Well, if you put the effort in, do all your work (plus more) and study hard, I see no reason why you couldn't achieve said goals.

:( Does my choice in subjects affect how well I do in terms of UAI?

Like how I only do standard english and gen. maths and no geography D:

No geography as in no science? lol, because not a great deal of people do geography I believe.

As for your other subjects they're not outstanding but as you'll be told over 9000 times you can do good with any subject combination.. but if you think you can do equally well in English Advanced or Mathematics then I'd consider changing to that.

Your subjects are sort of like mine:
Modern History
Business Studies
English Standard
IPT
Senior Science.

What subjects you do in school (most of the times) are not required to enter the UNI course. For example, Podiary. It says "Recommended Knowledge of Biology and Maths" But i emailed them, and they said i can still get into my course without doing those subjects.

Aslong as you do well in your subjects, and try your best (Rank well, Get good assessment and assignment marks) You should be able to achieve it. (It'd be good to know the UAI required :))

Don't muck up in class.

Lol this is a 'Can I get a high UAI with low scaling subjects' thread in disguise.

Random quotes I saved from previous threads (for threads like these)

I did shit subjects. Still managed a 93.30.

English Standard
Business studies
General maths
PDHPE
Retail

I honestly thought I was capped at high 80s. There's some motivation for the people with softer subjects.

ii did low scaling subjects too

gen maths
std english

society & culture
studies of religion 1

& still managed to get a UAI of 93

as long as u kill it in your low scaling subjects you'll get pretty high

i did all low scaling subjects

1. stand eng - 92
2. pdhpe - 94
3. community and family studies- 94
4. hospitality 94
5. 2 unit maths. 95

and got a uai of 97.8.

maybe the 2 unit maths scaled me up but i wouldnt have got anywhere near 97.8 if it wasn't for my "low scaling" subs
