I wonder if there are any people who do Maths Ext2 and only arts/humanities subjects (rather than social science subjects) like History, Languages or Visual Arts. That would be very unusual...

ye lol there are TWO like that at my skool

one does: 4u math, 3u english, music 2, ancient history

the other does: 4u math, 3u english, 3u jap, music 1

xD .......neither of them are at the top of math though

Actually, there are quite a few people in my grade who do 4U Maths and no Sciences. I can think of about 5. But then again, my 4U cohort is like 150.

Like you, I get Maths in Maths but I don't Maths in Science.

There are plenty of people like this too...

yep, can't stand the sciences
funnily enough i get the maths in maths but i never got the maths in physics...

No offense or anything, you are only one of many many people that have a completely wrong view of HSC physics. HSC physics has become more of an english based subject than mathematical. Any maths that is still included within the current scope is substition into formulas (90% of which are given)

P.S: i really wish it was still about the maths. It's knowledge that is barely going to help if you were to do B Sci (physics), what's with that!

not sure but, i think they got rid of all the maths bits, so that the girls would be more interested in doing physics.

ahh right, i heard that they realised asians were dominating it so they added verbs to help people who have english as a first language, when i think bout that explanation though i realise its unlikely/

my cusin did that in 06 and got 99.2 UAI LOL.... and this krn guy in my school does that too.

also we have 5 chinese girls doing ESL, jap beginner, Chinese background and mx2

I'm considering MX2 and no Sciences. Works out the highest possible scaling combo as well (if I can get the marks I want). Also I can't understand Physics at all, so I didn't take it. I'm terrible at the subject.

And also because there was a lack of teachers who could actually teach the subject.

It's a pity though, my Physics teacher is really good and would've been a fine teacher teaching the old course.

Yet another stereotype. There are many girls who like Maths more than English. In schools like James Ruse, North Sydney Girls and Baulkham Hills, you will find many girls who prefer Maths over English, particularly those of Asian ethnicity. (however, this too is a generalisation)
