Hi everyone...I'm aiming to get over 99 to have that competitive edge over other potential med candidates...was wondering how many units I have to get over 90 in in order to get over 99 UAI...at the moment I'm predicting my scores to be as follows (scaled):

Advanced English 85-90
English X1 85-90
Maths X1 95-100
Maths X2 95-100
Engineering Studies 90-95
Physics 90-95
Chemistry 90-95

Those are some mind blowing marks, gw there. yeah definately 90+ in adv eng will get you to the 97-99 range. what do you wanna do in uni and what are your ranks, ranks make a very big difference...

btw nice quote :p ;)

If you get roughly in the middle of your ranges for them all I think you are looking at aroung 99.4 - 99.5 with engineering and one unit of advanced english not counting. I am also aiming for similar marks:

Advanced English 85-90
Maths X1 95-100
Maths X2 95-100
Philosophy 90-95
Physics 90-95
Chemistry 90-95
... and I got 91 in geog last year (which hopefully won't count).

If I get those marks, Chem or Phys won't count, but at the moment I've slipped slightly in X1 maths so maybe that will be the 2u from this year that won't count for me. :)

yeah bobo but if the guy coming first in business is an average student and the guy topping classical greek is very bright then he should have an overall higher average and then there's no problem...

but, if the guy topping business is like a genius and the guy who's first in greek is just greek and he's not that good at anything else then in that case the business bloke will beat him...

Just wanted to point something out, that it doesn't matter whether your greek or not and doing CLASSICAL greek. Obviously there are overlaps, like the alphabet and a few words similar but on the whole it's different. And the reason bobo123 would have mentioned greek and business is because business isn't scaled all that well whereas classical greek is consistently the highest scaled subject, usually having a candidature of <15 with all of them getting like 99+, so lets just say that if you're good enough to do classical greek until year 12, even if you're not first in it, then you're still going to get a mighty damn good UAI.
