hey all, i need help writing notes to a source... we have been given an essay question to go with it and we have to write the essay this week... we are allowed to bring notes :)
the essay question is;
'Explain the context & message of the source above. Identify the relevant people, events & actions.'
any help would be great, including what it is trying to portroyed in the source. ta!!
... i've attatched the source :rolleyes:

ON THE SOURCE:
on the pocket of the left-hand man it reads 'white league'
in the middle it reads 'the union as it was'
underneath it in smaller writing... 'this is a white mans government'
where the men are handshaking it reads 'the lost cause'
in the lil emblem thingo next to the people crouching down, there is a lil book with 'a, b, c, d etc' and something that reads 'school house'
on the man on the right his clothing reads 'K.K' ((what does that stand for?!?!?!?))

i sort of understand it better... although i do not understand it totally, or with complete confidence.
The artist blames the white league & the Klan for creating conditions "worse than slavery" for freed blacks. So... the artist opposes the slavery, and cruelty shown towards blacks...??
