Hi there, just wondering if anyone can help me with some info on Anil's GHost. I hate it but i know it's a good text to include for the development of Crime Fiction.
Take a look at http://www.hsc.csu.edu.au/english/extension1/genre/crime_fiction/crime/CrimeFiction_Anil.htm
That has a good summary of everything you need to know about Anil's Ghost. I guess the main thing you need to know about the text is that the composer has used the crime fiction conventions (the sleuth - Anil, the realistic setting - Sri Lanka, etc.) to explore other focuses, like the truth and the effects of war on a population. This fits in with the context of the world today, particularly because so much of the book is based on real events that happened in the 1990's (the war, the assaination of the Sri Lankan president, etc.). I hope this helps!
