i think its cause she invests 800 at the end of the year, so T1=800(1.075)^4 and T5 = 800 instead of T1=800(1.075)^5 and T5 = 800(1.075) :)
that should work out to S5 = 4646!

help i keep getting 4995... but its 4646??View attachment 33649
Since she is investing $800 per year what we have here is one of the $800 not being compounded because remember she is investing at the end of the year. so therefore by natural default what happens is that we will have . Chuck that on the calculator and we will see how it goes.

It is good to recognise that now before in the test because every mistake you make here now will mean one less mistake in the exam. Think of this as a dress rehearsal before the show

did you get n=18 and T1=1000(1.1)^17 .... T18 = 1000 ? again, she only puts $1000 in at the end of the year so there is no interest earned in the first year
A little tip for this superannuation Q is if you put money at the start of the year your last amount will get compounded with the rest of the money. Put the money at the end of the year it does not grow, think of growing a new seed do you expect it to be grown the second you put it in the soil?
