u forget that 99.95 is about consistency across all 10 units. not all of those other 46 ppl will be doing as well in other subjects.

I don't see this person getting 99.95 with all those people in front of him/her at Baulko, plus the others who will get higher marks in the HSC from other schools. I just can't.

I see what you are trying to say, but you didn't take into account that many of those that are beating him in any of those subjects, for example, the 46 in English, may not be beating him overall, i.e. some dude rank 10 in english may be majorly failing in his other subjects, etc.

Those ranks will probably secure him like 10-15th in his school overall, and this is what we should take into account.

You are right regarding the fact that his chances of getting 99.95 will be slim though.

hey, I changed my initial guesstimate of mx2 to 92 now, yeh you're right, some of those marks were wishful thinking
