General- referring to the general stupidity and hebetudinous nature of your pathetic excuse for intelligence. Unfortunately I need to reveal one sad fact... 1 + 1 does not, equal window.

For the difference in 80+ and 75-79 question I wrote that there was an epidemic which mysteriously affected only 75-79 year olds and so they all died, hence there is more 80+ lol....although i did work out how much more 80+ there was than 75-79...maybe ill get a half mark...1/4 mark??? ahahahah
not quite - 80+ is a far bigger range than 75-79. ie: it stretches right up to 140 and beyond...

question 23 b)

The capacity of a bottle is measured as 1.25 litres correct to the nearest 10 millilitres.

What is the percentage error for this measurement?

you guys say its 0.4% but if it is meaured to nearst 10 millilitres dont you half it and it then the absolute error becomes 0.05

so 0.05/1.25 x 100 = 4% ????????

Well I did 5mL/1250mL = 4%.

So anyway that last question - please tell me SOMEONE who did this course can tell me what the answer was :p I spent about 20 minutes at the end contemplating what in the name of Maths they wanted me to do.

And good - some other people thought it was hard.
No hyperbolas and parabolas! I studied that like a nutcase!

People, i have NEVER passed a major general maths exam.

But the 80+ question was bloody easy.

CLEARLY THE RANGE IS BIGGER!!!

But some of these answers might score some entertainmentn marks!! =] LOLS

it 0.4%

percentage error = absolute error divided by the measurement

absolute error = 0.01 x 0.5
= 0.005

Therefore percentage error = 0.005/1.25 x 100/1
= 0/4 %

I wrote something along the lines off....

There is a difference because 80+ is referring to ANY ages above 80, whereas the age range between 75-79 is LIMITED to only 4 years. So the reason why there are more people in the 80+ age group is because there is no limitation of age. If that makes any sense? Would that be incorrect?

If you decress two of the sides, then the bigger side needs to decrease if it wishes the same area to remain. And I put the same equation, fingers crossed.

im screwed.

I looked at your answers for multiple and i was certain on some of them, as was my bf (in advanced) he looked over them and he thought i had gotten 17/22 for multiple but now im second guessing myself.

Im not saying your answers are wrong, can someone just point out my mistake?

isnt Q3 in multiple choice C? 67-24 =43?

Q11 - 100cm x 100cm = 10,000
pie x R squared - pie x 10cm = 314.16
10000 - 314.16 = 9685.84 ( round up to 9686) = A?

Q18. im not saying m right, i just didnt understand it - why 26 cubed? cant the letters be repeated 4 times? so why not to the power of 4?

Im confused, i just want a pass :( by the way things are looking im not having much luck.

Q3 - The lowest score is 24 but N represents 4 as the twenty is already represented by the 2

Q11 - The diameter is 10cm therefore the radius is 5cm

Q18 - M has to be the first letter therefore it's 1 x 26 x 10 x 10 x 26 x 26 = 26^3 x 10^2

Hope this helps
