Hi i'm thinking of taking anthropology as a major can someone tell me more about the course . Is it interesting ?

It basically focuses on human society much like sociology but uses field research and comparison to learn from, unlike sociology. It also generally focuses on 'non-western' societies, which also seperates it from sociology, although increasingly it does deal with these issues.

As you can imagine its a very broad topic, expect to study everything from globalisation, health, human rights, drugs, economics, politics and even food in the context of many different cultures and learn how they impact and develop in certain societies.

Its also very interdisciplinary, subjects like psychology, sociology, economics, politics and history will all be delved into in some manner.

Thats a general overview any specific questions?
