Transferring from UWS, seems everyone does Bcom lol. Looks like it had a higher atar/uai this year (slightly) yet only aprox 30 people got main round offers for eco when ~150 did for commerce. Aren't uai's an indicator on popularity?

Yeah..

So that just means people who wanted to do eco all got like 80 ? Bcomm is pretty broad and not too bad since they changed the structure.. before that they didnt allow you to double major forcing you to stay back 1 year to get there equivalent 'double degree' which isnt too bad but i wouldnt mind finishing 1 year earlier.

Whats ya major?

My major? I wasnt aware you had a major in Bec. i'm on the handbook page now and it doesnt say anything about a major being required. Looks like a few core subjects which i'll be able to get credits for several, and the rest are just electives you pick. Is that correct?

ummm yeah it doesn't say that you can..

umm

2010 Handbook - 2010 Course Handbook - Macquarie University

looks like you can only do it through those degrees

if you want to major in econometrics do a B commerce (applied econometrics)

otherwise just stick to B economics

edit:

lol even for that economics major it says you can't do it with a B economics. You can definetely major in economics or econometrics with an economics degree at mq
