any one doing commerce double major with actuarial? (1 Viewer)

could anyone tell me what courses do I need to choose in semester 1 year 1, coz it says

Note: For students intending to complete a major in Actuarial Studies, MATH1151 and MATH1251 should be completed instead of ECON1203 .

I want to do actuarial and accounting as my majors, could anyone help please?

I called UNSW about this.

In first semester you will do the core courses Acct 1501, Econ 1101, Mgmt 1001 and Math 1151. The lady said that Math 1251 is a session 2 course.

Hopefully others can confirm that as well.

I've got a five day timetable with that....

What about SCIF1021? I understand it isn't offered in the next semester - wouldn't it be a good idea to do it in first then?

Oh that sucks. I'm doing the same subs as you and i've got 4 day timetable. Doesn't really matter though, it's only for 1 semester.

No. If you decide to pursue accounting instead of actuarial, you are not required to do ECON1203. Source: UNSW Handbook Plan - Accounting - ACCTA13502

Also, i'm relatively sure that the unit "ECON1203" isn't a prerequisite for any majors.

Hey Gurmies, just take SCIF 1021 as it's compulsory for Adv Maths. Take MGMT 1001 next semester, as I plan to do.
