That is something totally different. Your scenario doesn't accommodate emplyoyers who reject people with high marks, it focuses on employers rejecting people with low customer service skills. Whether you have high or low marks, you are still going to have the same customer service skills.
Um did you even read my response beyond the first few words. How can you possibly have high customer service skills without work experience and extra curriculars, unless I'm missing something.

If you have nothing else but high grades you might struggle to secure a job in a client focused organisation (for example an accounting firm.) If you have high grades + other stuff ie work experience + extracurriculars you'll be fine.

to be honest, in some fields if you have 99 in everything, the employer could quite possibly think "lol nerd" and make other assumptions about you based on that
they actually do this even in computer science

Um did you even read my shit? You bolded the comment you made about having high marks and work experience being good, but the original quote was about employers saying NO to people with high marks. It is irrelevant what work experience or extra curriculars the person has.

Anyway, while you speculate that people with high marks may be refused roles due to lack of experience to be in a customer orientated business, it is my view that these roles are niche and with high marks you shouldn't struggle at all to find a job. Noting that most don't have excessive customer face to face time.

Being a HD average student will get you first preference for an interview with a company that has a graduate program with your university.

Obviously you didn't read what I wrote because I said it will be harder to secure a job if all you have are high marks - I never said a business will say 'NO'. Also it is extremely relevant what extra-curriculars and work experience a person has, more so the latter when applying for any type of position during/after university, especially in a client focused company - which again is stipulated in my previous post. This isn't an opinion, it is merely fact.

Good call bro. You are pioneering the employment industry, but sadly someone in primary school would be able to make the same observation.

I gotta qs. How will employers actually know you did all this extra-curricular stuff and obtained work experience, etc? I mean, couldn't you just fake it and say 'i played for my local team, i worked here and there and gained these skills/experiences, etc' on your resume? Becuase I did a lot of charity work throughout high school but I lost some of my certificates for them.

Yeah some people make them up. The way some companies try to compensate is by grilling you in the interviews about them. In pretty extreme situations (ie if they suspect you of lying and they're extremely bothered) they might ask for references or proof, however the likelihood of this is pretty small.

Just try your best, and aim for HDs - get at least credits though so you can remain as competitive as possible in any graduate programs.
