I was wondering if anyone does ballroom. If so:
1) How long have you been dancing for?
2) What standard (pre-bronze, bronze, silver, gold) are you up to?
3) Have you danced in a competition?
4) Has your teacher been in competition?
5) Do you prefer modern or latin?

I've been learning ballroom for a year now =D My teacher teaches us random sets from bronze, silver and gold levels. I've never danced in a ballroom comp, but my teacher has. I find latin easier to learn, but I love my modern, especially quickstep... which everyone in my class seems to hate Oo

hi,
ive been dancing for three years. im in amateur though, the rsl clubs around western sydney contain ballroom dancing sections in their youth club, eg: i dance for canley heights rsl club. these rsl club groups get together about once a month to compete against each other, its really cool. my teacher used to compete but he doesnt anymore. i love latin cos of the character that you put into the dances, but i also love the tango which also has a character.

So you mainly learn from a private teacher? how much does it cost?

i learn in classes but private lessons are available. my class lessons cost about $5 each time, but it varies with whichever club you choose to go to. private lessons also vary according to the teacher.

Im going to dig this topic up from its grave now

1) How long have you been dancing for? About 5 years
2) What standard (pre-bronze, bronze, silver, gold) are you up to? Silver bar
3) Have you danced in a competition? Nope but I am hopefully starting this year
4) Has your teacher been in competition? Yea, all the teachers at the school have danced nationally or internationally
5) Do you prefer modern or latin? Latin for sure
