Hey everyone,
I am currently studying at USYD doing a course that I do not like, and I wish to transfer into either Psychology (Honours) or Law + Psychology (Honours) at Macquarie. I have a few questions:

1. Is there a semester 2 intake for these courses?
2. Will my ATAR be taken into account when applying for this course, or the WAM of the current course I'm doing? I got an ATAR of 94.1, and both the courses are listed as having cutoffs of 94.05. Will I get in?
3. How exactly does the Honours work? Does it mean that I have to study Psychology for 3 years, and if I do well, then I get offered Honours for the 4th year, or does it just mean that I do Honours regardless of my mark?

Here's the two courses:

http://courses.mq.edu.au/undergradu...(honours)-with-the-degree-of-bachelor-of-laws

Thanks everyone :)

I do Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at MQ. :)

I am not too sure about the first two questions, it is something you should contact UAC and MQ about but I have heard from others that your ATAR is taken into account. I am sure there should be Semester 2 intake for these courses, since you should be able to do PSYC105 in Session 2 and then PSYC104 in Session 3.

As for the last question, you need to have achieved an average 70 SNG over all psychology units and specifically an average 75 SNG for 300 level psychology units in order to be admitted into your fourth year. Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) just gives you the advantage of being assured a place given you do fulfil these requirements, I believe.

Hey, not too sure about all of your answers, but a friend who is studying a Bachelor of Psych at Macquarie Uni completing her Honours at the moment wrote about her course and the options at Maq, pros and cons, and transferring from other degrees into B. of Psych so you can do Honours and Masters on this website- http://thefootnotes.com.au/bachelor-of-psychology-macquarie-university/ . Will definitely explain your third question for you- have a read, and if there's anything else you want to know I can ask her.
