Hey guys.

I was wondering if anyone else feels that they are behind in some subjects. So far this year we have missed out on lessons due to the following reasons:

3 day retreat/camp = 16 periods lost

If thats not bad enough:

random guest talks,
singing practice for as mass,
then mass,
teachers being away constantly
swimming carnival
teachers going on pointless junior excursions

Adding up to probably another 3 days, who knows at the rate we move in some subjects.

And just a whole load of issues in which its like the school takes the attitude that the hsc is second to well everything

All this time lost is really worrying me.

Just as an example in ancient history we are now in like week 5, right and have been yet to move past the first page in the textbook.
That's due to the fact of all the above reasons and becuase we had left over presentations from term 4 last year. You'd think, however, when you're behind that you would get your ass into gear and get into it, but instead we are splitting up the syllabus and making study notes as a class...which is arrggghh - people in our class will just hand in shit from the net they claim to be theirs or not even do it.

Then we will have wasted another stupid three weeks doing that which well in the end won't be helpful.

Luckily I know how to write my own effective study notes and do it for myself, its just that its unfortunate you go to a school to LEARN through a process called TEACHING by - well guess what, a TEACHER ..yeah you got it!

The hsc is so in murky water at the moment, especially with the half yearly exams at the end of term!

Sorry about my ranting

Anyone else been in a similar situation ?:):)

We just finished Maintaining a Balance for Biology (first topic) just last week. I now have a huge A4 folder of notes and sheets from class just dedicated to that module.

Yeah same here, Kevin.

My situation is more like "My school isn't behind with work, but I am"...

By finished crime in week 3, I meant it was the first topic we did, i.e. it took 13 weeks all up.

We finished maintaining a balance way back with about a week to go until the summer holidays though, we fly through bio and it's probably the fastest sub at my school.

What's everyone up to with Economics? We are up to foreign exchange.

Its a stark contrast to Modern though. We're about to start the third topic (out of four) in a few weeks time.

Im sorta behind with studying, hw is alright.
As for the school being behind, i think my class is a little slow in Chemistry. Probably because its a relatively large class, teacher has to make sure everyone knows what they're doing etc etc.

Theres alot of interruptions coming up though, retreat, assemblies etc. I think in week 2, i had like 2 assemblies and 3 year meetings. Man my arse was sore...... (we have to sit on the ground/carpet)
