i dont know his stuff thaaat well, but i'm pretty sure selected ambient works and the richard d. james album are meant to be better than drukqs.

but mount saint michael + st michael's mount is fucking amazing

druqks gets a lot of shit but i reckon it's still a pretty good album, it's just kinda same 'ol same 'ol apparantly (as far as aphex twin goes anyway).

yes, headphones and mt. saint michel + st. michael is required, now.

it was the first album of his i heard, maybe that's why i keep returning to it...i don't think i've even listened to SAWII or Richard D. James album all the way through.

From Drukqs I'd recommend trying "Richard D. James Album", probably his best non-ambient work. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is more Drum and Bassy ambient stuff while Selected Ambient 2 lacks drums of any sort, more melodic brian eno kind of stuff .. both ambient albums are great for studying to, big fan of the first 1 and I'd recommend going there after Richard D James album, but you'll have a hard time finding that in stores, had to order SAW from japan
