ok i have some probs here...... if velocity is minus it means the particle is going to the left ay?
Also on a displacement time graph....... if there is a maximum stationary point and then you know how the curve decreases after the maximum ? what is happening there? (like displacement... velocity.. wise) :S (is particle slowing down? speeding?)

i) Yes.

ii) A max turning pt means two things:
dx/dt = 0 (i.e. the particle has stopped to change direction - in this case from moving right to moving left)
d²x/dt² < 0 (i.e. the particle is deccelerating)
