so a recently had a chat with one of my best friends


this was the discussion

friend: we aren't super close anymore...

friend: actually, we are still pretty close.

friend: but maybe about 15% less...

me: um what? well, i guess that isn't bad, 15% isn't like a huge dent or anything

friend: well, maybe 30%

me: um, i hope you don't mean that

friend: it depends, its like 15-30% depending on the situation and how i feel at the time.

me: .....k

what do you guys make of that...

is that friend pushing me away or something, i mean, i don't know what to think.

but lol the friend is simply making a statement/measure of the closeness of your friendship - they probably want that to change for the better.

imho they are trying to say that you're not best mates anymore..slowly drifting apart. Bit of a cowardish way to say it.

My guess : You've somehow hurt her feelings and she doesn't want to tell you that outright, but is hoping that you will work it out by realising that you are 70% less close than what you once were.
