well considering ive been to both, id say it doesnt really matter in terms of education. the only difference is the social life.

back on the topic i rlly dont think it matters that much its more about the school you go to and mostly the individual student and how much effort they want to put in

I've been in a same sex school my whole high school life so I can't really comment on co-ed schools...

But I used to go to a girl school which was RIGHT next to a boy school. Shared the same Hall, the same pool, the same field. We all walk the same way to school, enter the same gate. Heck we even do exams together. thats as close as i got to the opposite sex... The only thing separating us is the invisible barrier between our school and theirs... I don't think it would be distracting but ... I dunno ....

Now I go to a girl school thats heaps FAR from their partner school. We'd have to catch 2 buses and a train to get to their school (waste of effort!!)

Personally, I agree that a school is a school it's really depentant on the individual

I've been at an all boys school since Year 5. I haven't been to a co-ed high school so I don't really know, but my coaching college has boys and girls in one class, and I personally don't see much of a difference. We talk and socialise normally and everyone's still pretty focused.

So yeah, I think it really depends on the individual.

co-ed schools: more distractions in class.
But it really does depend on the individual.

ok. here it is.
I've been to both.
same sex and co ed school
same sex for 4 years
and co ed for 1

and to be honest fun wise co ed is deffinately more interesting. Theres the scandal of whose hooking up with who and whose done what and cheated and etc.

and study wise. single sex is way more productive (unless ur bi or gay) theres not that much need to dress up for school for school and no one is impressing either gender or get nervous during speeches in english when you feel as thought the people are judging you.

to be honest. out of the two. I found co ed heaps fun. Went out with my mates, partied, got drunk and etc. It's just harder to do at an single sex school, as your more closed off, but study wise, like i said it is much more productive

Perhaps around 70% of these comments are bias, the only exceptions are from the people who have been in both. I have been in a same sex school since year 7, so maybe I just don't know better but there's really enough distractions as there is WITHOUT guys added to the classrooms.

While I can honestly say that most of my friends are girls, I can tell I will be okay after high school. My sister (who went to a co-ed school) went through all of high school focusing on her studies- she never had a boyfriend or even a guy friend until university. So just because I don't associate with the opposite sex as I would if I attended a co-ed school, it doesn't mean I'll be doomed to be a social misfit who hides at the sight of a guy.

And some people who have the idea that people who go to same sex schools are ALL like that (unable to deal with the opposite sex), then you haven't gone to a same sex school before. There are always opportunities outside of school to meet people, and I think that outside of school there should be no differences between the two types of schools.

I have no idea what that whole paragraph meant.

Anyway, its not like the only place you meet people is through school.
