I'm doing Foundations and Civil and Criminal Procedure this coming sem. Are law lectures generally recorded? I understand UNSW law lectures are in small groups of 30-40 and there is no recording. Not sure about USyd.

I was thinking of buying one of those LiveScribe pens and record the lectures (in secret :) )

Oooh... I've heard about those pens!
But I'm not sure how long you can record lectures for? And also you probably have to be sitting at the front of the room for it to actually hear something?
A great idea though... been considering getting one myself :p

Not sure about Civil... have to see this semester. There were weekly recordings for Torts tut with Foundations, we didn't have any at all.

I know how you feel.... they start at $350 :(
Plus you'll need more than a 100 sheets of paper

It generally varies from year to year but, in the main, no.

From my experience:

Foundations of Law -- NO
Contracts -- NO
Criminal Law -- NO
International Law -- NO
Legal Research I -- NO
Legal Research II -- NO
Processes of Justice (i.e. Civil and Criminal Procedure) -- NO
Public Law -- NO
Torts -- NO
Torts and Contracts II -- YES
