Hi all ,
Im a current student , getting ready to do the HSC this year .
Im not really smart in all my subjects, and i dont think im going to get above 90 or 80 at the moment.

I just wanna ask ,
If i got in UWS in the first year ? Is it hard to transfer to a better uni like UNSW / USyd ?
after a year ?

When you decide on the degree you want to do, check the requirements for transferring. Some require things like a Credit or Distinction average in your first year to transfer.

Yeah.

I'd also wager that it's better to internally transfer instead of externally transfer so you don't have to deal with doing subjects twice because the current uni doesn't recognise the subject you did at the one you transferred from.

I know a guy, he transferred from Queensland. He did an accounting course there. UNSW didn't recognise it. He had to take accounting again.

I would say it's quite a tough process when transferring externally to another University because there are so many spots reserved for internal transfer in the university. Also you have to have very competitive marks to externally transfer, especially if you're heading from UWS to UNSW/USYD. But yeah again, it depends on the course and strength of other competitors. You have to apply via UAC also.

Also, you have to apply for 'credit' for previous studies if you want to save some Graduation time or avoid repeating the same subjects. However, some universities may not grant this as the subjects vary largely. So you may have a chance of repeating the subject if you already did it!

I think just working hard during high school and trying to score the highest ATAR is your best option, things on the University level are very tough and especially transferring is quite annoying process.

Good luck :)
