does this mean that my teacher can bring in a question where it says 'prove the pigeonhole principle'?
i watched some youtube videos and read a couple of articles but no one proves (without induction) the pigeonhole principle as 'actual' math just some silly short sentences to better visualise

i think u just need to be able to express why the principle works
something like this:
suppose we have n pigeonholes and n+1 pigeons. pick n of the n+1 pigeons. in the worst case put them into their own pigeonholes (if they ever share a pigeonhole in this step then the result already holds). now every pigeonhole is occupied by one pigeon, so the last pigeon has to share with one other pigeon, meaning we have found a pigeonhole that holds 2 or more pigeons

honestly I would be great at perms and combs too. Like giving my math teacher a haircut in a math exam would be very fun and something that I would def do amazing in. She would really like her perm with my excellent combing skills
