i'm happy with three of my subjects because i did my best and got ranks as high as i could with our cohort being fiercely competitive at the top end.

with the other two i'm not as happy because even though they're also very competitive at the top, i didn't try my hardest to close the gap, which was stupid of me.

all i got to say is cut, i work hard all yr, and half way through the last term this guy comes to our school from some posy school and gets an estimate for most of the assesments we did, and comes first! not fair, i beat them in the trial and it was in my favourite subject to so yer ranking sucks cos now i feel like if i try do well... Hell no. I'm below the average in Physics, Chemistry, English and 3U Maths, only slightly above in 2U Maths and dropped from the top rank to the bottom in German. It pisses me off because I studied for hours every day for months and months leading up to them, I studied everything that the teachers said would be in the trial, and it got me nowhere.

I am like halfway in the class in most of my subjects yet i topped the trials in all but one of my exams. My teacher's think my UAI should still be ok but my HSC marks wont be all that good.

What... HSC marks are linked very closely with UAI. If your HSC marks wont be all that good, so wouldnt your UAI.
