Noops. I'm planning to take about ... 4:

French, German, Italian, Greek or Spanish.

I'll devour each of them gradually, of course, but I'm feeling excited already. I will definitely start French right after HSC!

i dont think i'd do languages although i'd love to speak another language, i've just had bad experiences with other languages and i'm not particularly good at learning them.. so i'll just stick with english

When I get there, I think I'll do German. What's languages like in uni anyway? Is it like high school languages or is it, I don't know, horrendously complicated?

lol cantonese is weird, the language that is. I'm not too good at it but i can understand and speak most basic everyday stuff. Its just seems so much less structured and formal as mandarin. well thats wat i think anyway

When I went to the USyd and UNSW open days this year, I remember heaps of the lecturers saying that doing a major or minor in a language was becoming more and more essential for global career opportunities. It makes sense I guess...especially with the rise of Asia, and the fact that heaps of professional Europeans seem to know fantastic English already, we'll be left looking kindof stupid being one of the more monolingual countries.

if you do commerce (liberal studies) you do commerce and arts (i.e. you can do a language).

anyway, i do italian so if i were going to do a language that would probably be it.
