Given the demographic of this site.....

DO your Asian parents show much affection (hugs, kisses)?

Nope. Raised by my father and aunt (mother's sister) thanks to circumstances beyond our control... they kind of hate each other so as a result my family is a little off dysfunctional.

And no, neither of them are very affectionate. =/

My mother has an excessive interest in what happens in my personal life. Not to criticise, but to show affection.

Between my sister and my mum, yeah they're very affectionate. Hugs and kisses. My dad was. My stepdad is.

My dad was irish/ stepdad Hungarian.

I guess I don't live in a traditional asian household though.

Plus... I think Filipinos tend to be a little bit more loving, haha

I usually chase down my parents and squeeze them and pick them up for a spin. I always have to ask the hug and make the move but they don't mind. They are scared though one day I'll break my back from picking them up. Meh 70 kg is nothing.
