i have an assessment task due tomorrow and i am so stuck!
its an essay.
'to what extent was the treaty of Versailles responsible for the
failures of democracy in germany in the period 1919 to 1934?'

my advice...start it two weeks ago when you got it.

Treaty of Versailles was unfair. Germany couldn't rebuild itself. Hitler didn't like, civil unrest.
(I'm not doing Germany but it's fairly obvious). Just expand on what I said.

- imposed democracy on germany
- reparations of the treaty = 32 billion us (i think)
- Stresseman reduced strains from treaty of versaille
- 1923 Ruhr occupation and its implications on German morale
- 1929 payments of German reparations amounted to 8 billion marks but were paid with foreign investments, german banks attracted foreign investments with high interest rates but this slowed down the economy and reduced production causing increase unemployment
