My school is ranked between 450-500 (at least I think it is...I went by the SMH list)

I would like an atar of 85+ ...Here is my Half yearly report: mark (and rank)

English Advanced : 87 (1/18)
English Extension one: 42/50 (2/4)
English Extension two: N/A (1/4)
General Maths: 86 (2/79)
History extension: N/A (1/2)
Industrial technology, Multimedia: 91 (3/9)
IPT: 93 (1/15)
Modern history: 88 (1/6)

I'm assuming this will get me an Atar of 85 or more...however, I am a bit scared of Multi and IPT scores as I do not believe they are a true reflection of my ability...But I'm not sure...

Any idea what kind of atar I'm looking at?

It is up to you.

you are first or second in most subjects and with your high ranked school it makes it hard to judge.

You can easily get it with your ranks, all you need to do is go well in your externals

You're pretty much on track for 90+

Since you're first in almost everything, you're pretty much in control of your ATAR now.

Awesome, I guess I just need to keep studying for the final months.

Also, out of curiosity..

Assume a student at a school ranked 1-50, got the same exam ranks as me in every subject...If we got the exact same External mark, would our Atars be the same?

Unlikely. Internal marks also play a role in ATAR.

Correct. School ranks don't actually impact upon ATAR, namely they help us to determine the strength of your cohort (average wise speaking of course)

Unlikely. Internal marks also play a role in ATAR.
No they don't.

Ranks only.

You should be able to pull off about 92 (or higher!) if you keep it up :)
