I agree with the 80-90 range, again none of us know for sure. He is probably improving his marks from his trials...

If he performs at the current level he is right now then he will, not 'ace'.
Are you dumb? If his atar was based only on internals he would get a 72ish atar based on school rank, CSSA being easy this year and the fact he has indicated he started bad

I really don't think someone of your caliber or credentials can really call me dumb.
He's done CSSA trials. I got similar marks to that in my trials which was cssa and independent and got me marks ranging from 92-96.

So gtfo.

INB4, Hscbuzman rocks up with a 99.95 atar. That would be hella funny.

lol where on earth is this confidence coming from; you haven't even sat the HSC yet.

Just for fun, give me an ATAR estimate. School rank was around 40th.
Subject ranks:
English Adv: 93/120
Math Ext 1: 1/90
Math Ext 2: 4/25
Physics: 4/75
Chemistry: 2/75
LOL. English came and swallowed all the other 8 units.

Okay send you trial marks with ranks and your overall atar.
Trial marks:
English: 67%
3u maths: 90%(easy asf trial though)
4u maths: 78%
Physics: 80%
Software: 83%

HSC exam marks:
English: 85
3u: 96
4u: 92
Physics: 90
SDD: 96

English had a gap difference of about 20%. My internals got raised to almost 85 as well from an average of in the 60s

Oh and atar was > 95. Do you still think he is sitting at < 80?

I sure do. His marks are like on average 15% less then yours and he does shit subjects for scaling compared to you. 70-75 is a fair estimate.

Cosmology Distinction Course: Pass (didn't count in my top 10) - this course isn't offered anymore so disregard it.
85 but 95 if English external is smashed.

English:
I did standard he did advanced
67% compared to his 75%

Physics:
80% compared to his 75%

If we compare software and eco as that is the fairest one
83% as opposed to his 90%

And the maths is where I'm 'way' higher, and that's why we are not predicting his atar to be in the 95+ range, but rather in the low 80s range which is due to the differences in the scaling of our math marks.

Also as I said I did Standard English, an 85 in it easily provides a less atar contribution than Math advanced and his English advanced.

So where are you getting the fact that his marks are 15% less than mine?

Would you say he is more likely to get 75 or 90??????

This proves my point lol

I never said 90.

I said low 80s, but definitely not 75. I never said he would get 90 based on his current marks. Just because low 80s is closer to 75 does not mean he will get 75.

Dude how hard are you lowballing peoples marks lol. Can't tell if your still trolling.

I got 98.4, with a HSC english mark of 80 (external exam mark was 84, so I wouldn't call it smashed) - I barely scraped a band 5 for it.

I think you're severely underestimating what you need to get a certain ATAR. Remember that it's a rank, not a mark. So even if someone does "poorly" in an "easy" trial paper, you gotta account for the fact that it's sat by thousands of students across the state, many of whom literally have no idea what they're doing. So while you think a 75% is "bad", keep in mind that there's many students in some noname town in NSW who's class average is probably like 20%. There's also other things like school marking criteria, which could potentially be very strict compared to HSC. Finally, there's also scaling to take into account.

If I only got an ATAR of 85 with those marks, it would mean that you would essentially need to be near top of the school to even think about breaking 90+. Considering that I went to a top 50 school, that would mean that only a few hundred or so people in the state would get 90+, which simply isn't the case. I've got friends who were ranked near the middle, got band 4s and 5s for all their subjects, and still got 85+. You really don't need superb marks and ranks to a reasonable ATAR. Getting 60-70 ATAR requires like band 3's across the board.
When @John1201 gets a 75 atar, will you apologise to him for causing him to bring his hopes up?
