you would probably have to get into top 10 of all your subjects since they scale extremely poorly. Like if youre getting 50% in the HSC raw mark you will get scaled down to like 20% for most of them i would assume

top 10.... but my cuz got 60% in their yr 12 chem trial n he was ranked 3rd or 4th in the class of 16 same school, n ended up getting 80 for his hsc mark how does that work

how is that wrong this dude has awful ranks and marks even his school rank is chat! and that cuz of yours, the scenario youre giving me doesnt really illustrate anything. A chem trial is a small part of your HSC. Theres still externals for every other subject. Like if he had gotten 0% in all his other chem assessments it would be different to if he had gotten 100% in all his assessments...So that doesnt really tell anyone anything

I admit my 20% was an exaggeration but you catch my drift. Something below 40 is definitely on the cards! BTW what do you need to score lower than to get a mystery mark is it lower than 30?

pretty much all raw marks go up when aligned

50% would be 60-70% aligned

Serious dude, I think that you can do anything you put your mind to. But i also think that attending a lower ranked school will make you get scaled down alot.

If you are "competent" in hospo, does it even count towards your atar, coz if not, you arent doing enough units for an atar.
But I am guessing 55

I recon ~43, low ranking school with poor scaling subjects WITH poor marks makes life really hard when HSC rolls around. IF the guys ranked at the top of you class are getting 80+ then your really fucked.
