A school rank of 500 ~ would have a very low DA% so I'd say the only band 5-6 subject you're looking at right now is SOR. For every other subject, you're ranked in the lower quartile which isn't too bad but isn't good either.

I estimate 62~ to a max of 65~ if you aced the HSC.

Going to a school ranked 500 doesn't guarantee an ATAR below 70, it just means that you won't get many band 6's, if any at all. OP is still quite well ranked in the majority of subjects so I would be very surprised if they got below 70.

A school at rank 500 would mean the average mark for subjects would be considerably lower, thus why it's rank 500. One of my friends who graduated last year went to a rank 200~ school and their atar median was around 70-72. Sorry but if you want 80+ at a school ranked 500, you need to come first in nearly every subject.

Not true. I go to a school ranked about 250, with an average cohort of about 100, and of that 100, generally 5 will get over 90, and another 10-15 will get over 80. Given that school ranks are based on band 6's, there isn't that much of a gap between a school ranked 250 and a school ranked 500. Coming first in everything at a 500 school would almost guarantee an ATAR of 90+, and you'd be surprised at how many kids would get over 80.

Well ofc, it depends on externals too but OP's ranks are all in the lower quartile, coming last in 2 subjects.

I go to a rank 40-50 school and even kids in my school who come in the lower quartile of ranks struggle to get above 80.

I really doubt it will be THAT low referring to 60's. my cohort isn't that bad, and for some subjects it's pretty good. I think I might be able to achieve 70+ and even if I did ace the HSC, sure my ATAR might not be lifted by that much, but it should be lifted nonetheless
