Will standard english have a significant impact on my atar?
Atar aim = 97

school rank - 251 (generally between 140-180, except for last year, very bad cohort)

Rank, followed by mark.
Standard English - 1/136 82%
Biology - 5/64 94%
Chemistry 13/90 89%
MX1 - 4/73 86%
MX2 - 6/33 - 85%

Considering you're first in standard english and you maintain your effort, I don't think it will have that much of an impact, epsecially when knowing about your maths ability and your consistent scores in other subjects.

In terms of atar estimate, between 97 and 98 atm imo. but as always best to get as many estimates as possible from BOS.

so a bump as well.

You know if you can keep that rank in Std it would be good because then you won't get dragged down by anyone else. But just incase this doesn't happen, I'd say you really need to push your other ranks up...

imo 97.5 give or take. Since your school dropped from 140 to the 250s, your cohort cant be too quick to judge since maybe last year might be just a bad egg?

Updated post trials -

School rank 2013 - 250 (shit cohort last year) every year besides last, school rank generally between 140-180

English standard - 1/140 (last year one band 6 and 20 band 5's. Generally 20-30 band 5's every year)
Biology - 5/73 (last year 5 band 6's)
Chemistry 12/83 (4 band 6's last year. Ranks are real close though, 1st place is on 93 and I'm on 88. We calculate course marks)
MX1 - 5/73 (last year 16 band 6's, every year 15+)
MX2 - 5/33 (last year 3 band 6's, everyone beating me will get a band 6 for sure this year)

English won't have an affect on me right? I'm first and an outlier. Beating second place by 12-15%

By using your information solely (and going off the numbers by itself), estimation of your marks would be:

English standard = 90
bio = 90
chem = 88
3u maths = 94
4u maths = 91

then using matrix atar calculator, that gives 98.25

so, imo anything below 96 is too low an estimate.
