My sister is doing HSC this year and she wants an estimate of her ATAR. She's feeling rather anxious to the pt that she thinks an ATAR of 90 is questionable..Thanks for help.

English advanced: 78% Rank: 59/180
Mathematics: 92% Rank: 21/161
MX1: 43/50 Rank: 11/126
Biology: 71% Rank: 22/75
Economics: 81% Rank: 40/76
Japanese Cont.: 81% Rank 9/13

School rank: Top 15 in the state for 2011

I would probably say around 93-95 ATAR.
English is pulling her down alot. 1 unit of eco probably not count.

Thanks but I would say that one unit of bio won't count as her eco results were better and eco scales better than bio as well.

We can't be certain which would be counted. If the cohorts' marks for eco are all very close, compared to the bio marks which seem to have large gaps then eco may be counted. But your sisters ranks don't look too bad, she just needs to improve on her English. And her maths ranks and marks are really good for a top 15 school! Tell her not to stress =)

Agreed, although I reakon one unit of japanese probably wont count. Your sister looks ok for 90+, but rankings can change heaps from here on out.

to early to say after half yearlies would be a better iniscation but at this point id go 90-93
